The use of MIG/MAG process is widely frequent due to its high productivity and its automation easiness. With the MIG/MAG process is possible to weld low alloy steels, stainless steels and aluminum, with thicknesses from 0.5mm in different welding positions.
This type of welding was designed to weld carbon steel, stainless steel and low alloy steel, because it uses an electric arc to produce coalescence between a metal electrode of continuous tubular filling and the base material, it may be executed with or without the use of protective gas. With special feeders, sensitive to tension is possible to execute a high quality FCAW welding with a power source of continuous current.
TIG acronym indicates a welding with inert gas and tungsten electrode. TIG welding may be used on joints that require high quality welded parts, on metal welding highly sensitive to oxidation, as titanium and aluminum and often on steels resistant to heat, as stainless steels. TIG process allows stability and electric arc conception, i.e., may be used on all welding positions and types of joints, has good appearance of the weld bead with a soft and plain finishing, absence of spatter and slags in thicknesses from 0.3mm.
The process uses a narrow arc that is squeezed through a copper nozzle to create a longer arc, thinner and more concentrated that the arc achieved on GTAW process. The constriction process increases significantly the arc tension and the occurred ionization quantity. The highest temperature is achieved, increasing the effectiveness of heat transference.
Automated process which uses the heat of a concentrated beam of coherent light in order to join two materials. This process is used to weld all metals available in market.
This type of welding produces heat through an electric arc which is kept between the end of a cored electrode and the surface of the base material. Is used for the joint of most metals and alloys.
The welding can only be executed on a plain or horizontal position due to the use of granular flow and fluidity of molten pool. This technique is highly versatile, since it may be welded very thick and thin material on this process.
